According to the principle of Infrared Non-contact Forehead Thermometer can be divided into monochromatic thermometer and two-color thermometer (radiation colorimetric thermometer). For monochromatic thermometers, the area of the object to be measured should fill the field of view of the thermometer when the temperature is measured. It is recommended that the measured target size exceed 50% of the field of view.

The Infrared Non-contact Forehead Thermometer must be calibrated so that it can accurately display the temperature of the object being measured. If the temperature measuring instrument is out of tolerance during use, it must be returned to the manufacturer or maintenance center for re-calibration. Infrared thermometer calibration generally choose cavity type, emissivity higher than 0.99 blackbody furnace.
